40 Stations is a unique photographic project by Turkish photographer Muammer Yanmaz and the project coordinator Selen Akcali. The project focuses on immigration and the changing nature of international borders. Yanmaz followed his previous 40 Stations projects in Paris and New York by photographing 40 Turkish migrants in tube stations of their choice in London. The London project has been supported by British Council Istanbul. The London project had been first exhibited at SPACE gallery www.spacestudios.org.uk in London between 3rd May- 31st May 2008 in collaboration with British Council London and Turkish Tourism and Culture Office. The Istanbul Exhibition of the project had been occurred between February 21st and March 14th 2009 at ARTANE Gallery www.artane.org Istanbul. The exhibition had been also showed at Ankara Resim Heykel Müzesi between 31st March and 10th April 2009 in Ankara.
